What is a Board Game? - A board game is a game played with counters or pieces that are placed on, removed from, or moved across a "board" (a premarked surface, usually specific to that game). Simple board games often make ideal "family entertainment" since they are often appropriate for all ages. Some board games, such as chess, go/weiqi, xiangqi, shogi, or oware, have intense strategic value and have been classics for centuries. What about games without "boards"? - We offer a selection of games that do not use a traditional board. These include non-collectible card games, where players all play out of one or more decks of cards (such as Uno), tile games, where the "board" is built during the game out of playing pieces (such as Carcassonne), modular games, where the board can be assembled in different ways (such as Descent), and more. I can just show up? - Yup. We have a library of games that customers can check out and play in the store. All you need is a Driver's License or other photo ID. What do I need to play? - Most of these games contain everything needed to play inside the box. Sometimes, you may need a pen and paper, or other way to keep track of score. We offer additional board game pieces, including scorekeepers, hourglasses, and the like. What Board game products do we carry? - This is selection of the games we carry, with detailed information. We'll be adding to this list as we can.
